Warm Wooly Memories PT 1
I have been reading Marilu Henners new book on Memory. Have you heard about it? I am even taking an online class on her website. Anyway, as I excavate memories from my life, I have decided to create a memory quilt. But I am going to do it out of wool. So far here is a a photo of my progress. I have so much more to add, but wanted to start documenting my progress.
Story behind the block:
* One of my first creative memories was when I was in first grade and we were to create a snowman out of cotton balls. Thus my love for snowmen.
* Marcel Marceau is one of my most favorite artists. I loved his little sailor suit jacket and his hat with the little flower on top. The hat on this snowman is more reminisant of a hat my Godfather use to wear. (He actually was the Tin Man in the Wizard of OZ. Remember him? Jack Haley?
* Dogs have always played an important role in my life. I loved to teach my first dog - Coa~Coa tricks and reward her with treats.
There are many more stitches to put on and I need to add the little parakeets which was a big part of my childhood.
Her name was Harlequin Hulabaloo. After she passed away, I got another one who looked just like her and I called her Deja' Vu.
Thanks for letting me share my memories and my project. I will post updates!
Cheers to Creativity!
