Default Watching in the Moonlight - Art Quilt

This was one of those pieces inspired by the material. I painted it and constructed it earlier this winter. I only added the crow at the last minute. It felt lifeless and empty for the 2 weeks it hung on my wall. Some may find it moody, but to me it has life and tells a story. Enjoy 32x40 in.

I like it. How did you make the skinny tree branches? Is it couching? Very nice detail & it looks so real.

I think your wall hanging is great and the crow does definitely add to the piece.

The branches are twisted cord and wool. Some times I machine stitch using netting to capture the material but there was so much here, this time I hand stitched.

Oh my! It is almost as if you were looking out my window last night. Except there were three crows in my tree. Beautiful, very dramatic and perfect in every detail!
