If you have an old quilt in your family, you should record (audio or video) the person who knows the most about it in your family & can tell how it came about or who it was intended for. These stories are precious, and often lost.
My grandmother was the keeper of the family history in stories. pictures, & objects. She shared it all with me, & I never forgot. It can mean a lot more to your descendants who may acquire these things if they know more about them.

That is a treasure.
I have an old quilt top that I was trying to sell, and I always pictured it looking like this when someone would have finished it. Vintage old fabric, puckered quilting and comfy looking.
