Agree .... I learned that way back when I did an Eleanor Burns QIAD class about 1990.
I think she had a different name for it. Forget what it was though.
It just comes automatically for me now, when I sew a bunch of blocks together.

Webbing is kind of like chain stitching but with finished blocks instead of piecing. You lay your block out the way you want them and then flip the second row over the first row and pick them up in order. You sew the blocks seam together and keep the next blocks butted up to the last one without cutting the thread between them. You do that across your whole quilt and end up with it all attached( or webbed) . This keeps everything in the right position and then you just sew the hirizontal seams.
