I agree Terri. But I think you should come here! And we could drive to see Karla. She is too busy to come here. Of course I would love to go to Hawaii and meet you there - never been.....someday. Now that we are "retired" we are thinking of all the places we want to travel!

Well, the flight I am hoping to get on is continuing on to Souix City Iowa! lol
Then I could just rent a car and go from there! :)
But, it's the getting back here that could be the problem. Would have to get into CA or WA and HOPE for a flight to HI, then on to GUam.

Ok, I made the Irish Chain. It's full size, but I get an e-mailing telling me that the newlyweds NOW have a QUEEN size bed. Seems someone bought them a bedroom set as a wedding gift.
Do you think it would be ok to put a couple borders on it? Maybe a 6 inch white around the entire quilt? That would make it bigger and fit the queen bed, not overhang, but fit better.
I would do 2 borders, one with the brown and other with white, but I'm out of the brown color. :(

    What do ya think??

Do you have enough squares to make 4 more nine patches? Put them in the corners and the white borders going down the edges.

Makes it wider, but continues the pattern into the border. If you need it wider. put a 2 inch (finished) border of just white to frame it all. Now it's grown by 14" finished.

I agree with BarbM that is a great Idea. I did that with the baby quilt when I didnīt have enough of one fabric and it was just perfect.

Go for it, very inconsiderate of them having such a large new bed .

Bet you said, "oh blow it"..... LOL

I think her side of the family probably chipped in and bought it as one big gift. It's probably nothing too extravagant, but none the less, they could have told me. lol But I don't know her, I know his side of the family.

Bill and I started out with my bedroom set that was already 10 years old. The rest of our furniture came from yard sales. My mom cleaned out her kitchen and gave me what she didn't want along with some friends who did the same. Bill and I eloped, so we didn't have the "wedding of our dreams".

I had thought about finishing it while waiting for this flight. Good thing I didn't, huh? I would have been mad and they would have gotten a FULL size quilt! lol
