Love everything about this! The fabrics are beautiful, as are the piecing and quilting. Also like the decorative stitching and your signature and year. Those labels are great. Did you embroider them or quilt them? What software? Great job! I'm sure they'll cherish them forever!
I wash the fabric to free it of sizing, etc., so it can truly accept the inks. Trim to 8-1/4" x 10-3/4". Tape across the top only (don't tape over the top edge or sides). That is the end that feeds into the printer. Remove the stack of paper and place only the fabric/cardstock piece. Set the printer on the highest and best print and go for it. After letting dry well, set in with dry iron.
I've been making labels like this for years and they remain amazingly dense - because of setting the inks in with heat, I think. Give it a try, I think you'll find it easy and lovely for incorporating clip art, photos, etc.
And thanks, all, for your kind words. This was a fun one to do and Eleanor Burns' instructions are always so easy to follow and wonderfully accurate.
