there is a slightly larger little table in plastic like larger ones used in halls etc. It is neat as you can cover it for an ironing place beside the machine but is large enough to have a cutting board as well. I find this very handy to have beside the machine.

Gotta love Pinterest. There are so many good ideas on the site and this is one of them. Those darn things are too heavy to make good T.V. trays plus there's no rim to keep your items from sliding off so this is a perfect use for them. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.

I made me one a year ago...bought the wooden one from Walmart...put a couple layers of aluminum foil on the surface...a few layers of batting scraps..and then made my cover...and ran elastic around the edges and it slips on and that way you can take it off to wash if necessary...bought a cheap iron at Walmart just for that table...love mine..use it all the time and folds up when not sewing...works fantastic...

Great project! I wonder how to protect the wood finish before adding the batting & fabric? Someone suggested aluminum foil, but I'm thinking it would still form condensation below it. DH suggested cutting a second board to sit on top of the table, then cover both of them. hmmm
