I lost my sister to cancer and the process of healing was difficult. It does appear that your special friend is moving back to that happier place in her life where she could reach out to others with her quilting gifts. You are to be commended for being an encouragement to her. We know that quilts that are quilted are more durable than those that are tied but your friend needs to be able to move forward. There is simple designed FMQ and then there is the elaborate. There are lots of helpful videos and YouTube. She will find her pace in her own time. But, boy she is a great piecer!

I was there to support her in her grief. For three years she grieved and I just let her talk. We would talk about quilting and I got her to join the QB. We would look at all the beautiful quilts and I would say, "WOW that is one you could do". And now she is working at her quilts again and I couldn't be happier. It seems she is trying to catch up on all the time she missed. She was in her sewing room at 3:00 this morning. GO Christie!!

Beautiful quilts and so sorry to hear about her losing her sister. Your friend will have to be ready when she feels ready to quilt again. That is wonderful that you are encouraging her to pick up the quilting again and I am sure she will do it soon.
