    I prefer to use traditional patterns, mainly the North Country and Welsh patterns from UK. I find them in books, in the internet and on pictures of classic Wholecloths. I also draw many of them by myself and use precut stencils.

    Kay, I use a 18" hoop on a stand for handquilting.

    Boy! you WERE born to quilt. That is beautiful work. I do my quilting by machine or send it out if it is king size.
    When I grow up I hope to do a quilt like yours, I am now 73 yrs old and holding but have many quilting years ahead of me. One of my friends is 86 and she made 13 quilts last year, she has a large blended family and she wants every one to have a quilt. She quilts by hand also but not as tight as your quilt, just enough to hold the fabric together .
