I take a strip of Seminole patchwork, put a binding on the bottom and top of of the patchwork and fold it over to cover the raw edge. Then I place it on the shirt, cutting a seam allowance at the arm and turning that under, pinning it to the shirt. I also had a seam allowance at the center front that I finger pressed under I zig zag the patchwork strip to the denim shirts for my husband. Notice it is just above the pocket. He loves them and wears them all the time. I thought I would share the idea. Some of us have long suffering husbands.

I really like it, used to make my nephews western shirts all the time. I raised them and making their shirts was cheaper than buying since they just had to have shirts like Garth Brooks and his style changed every year.
