I would match the two pieces, make a quilt out of them and call it reversible. A small child would love either side and could change off. I wouldn't cut either one up into squares. A thin batting inside would increase its hug value.

Oh those ducky's are cute. I'd hate to cut them up too but I can see doing them like suggested with 4 patch in between a block of ducky print. Good luck.

How about Attic Windows for the duck fabric?

I'm working on a quilt with that ducky fabric that I bought from Avalon Blooms cut as kaleidoscopes. My intention was for it to look like ducks in a pond with the surrounding yellow fabric depicting the beach (I know - I think way too much!)

I'll back it with yellow minkee and not use any batting.

Don't look too closely -- it's my first attempt at applique. Boy, do I ever learn things the hard way!

I am for fussy cutting ....pick out a place you like....you would have to scrap some of it. How much do you have? It would always make a very cute back. I am not sure about the fleece.

Are they close in size? Could you sew the two RST leaving a small opening for turning and tie them? You may not even have to use batting if the duck fabric is heavy. Just an idea. Good Luck.

I have that same fabric. Fell in love with it when I saw it. I used the Warm Wishes pattern and then did the final outside border with it and backed it in yellow flannel.
