Looking for some good ideas here as to how I can mark my fabrics once they have been washed starched and pressed. ( This is to identify which I have washed and which I have not.) I usd to cut a corner off or the selvage off but once I cut into it I can't always tell. I usually work with smaller pieces, some new some recycled, just thought I would ask what you all do as knowing this site you will all have some good advise and wonderful ideas!
Nothing worse than realising you have just washed all that fabric again for nothing!

I don't starch or press it. I bring it home, wash it, fold it and put it away. Why press it when It will probably need to be re-ironed when I want to use it? I also don't have to worry about bugs eating the starch - not that I really worry all that much about it.

I wash everything. I can always tell washed from unwashed, though. The washed has fraying at both ends!
I haven't starched any fabrics yet, but when I feel the need to do so, will probably do it when I'm ready to work with the fabric. I agree with Mitch's Mom about the ironing, although I have started ironing anyway because my DH is afraid that washing and drying the fabric won't be enough to prevent bed bug eggs from hatching. I humor him on that, because he humors me on so much other stuff.

I used to wash everything before I used it, but now I don't, but how you can tell is by looking at the raw edges. I don't starch any fabric until a day before I'm going to use it, then I spray heavily, let it sit in a plastic bag for a minimum of 2 hours, usually overnight, then let it air dry or put it in the dryer for a few minutes.
