I had to use my dining room table for a couple of years. It was hard on the back and shoulders cause the machine was too high. And I had to clean everything off of the table every week, (at least) cause we have a small group that meets here one night a week. Though for a while we had meeting here 3 nights a week!!! Sure got in the way of sewing. It was no fun cleaning it all up constantly. Now I have room to leave what I'm working on out!!!
I don't have enough counter space in my Kitchen to do anything but cook on. That would make it hard to get anything done, that and the counter would have to be cleaned up really good so you don't get anything on your fabrics!!!

What i like about my sewing room. Took one of the bedrooms and made a sewing rooom out of it. Went to a used builing supply store and got my cupboads, counter tops . Saved a lot of money by doing it this way. Had so much fun with my sister in law as her and I did all the work in here. I have 2 nice windows for light Now my hubby can come and see what im sewing, and dont have to worry about him fall on the stairs as my sewing room was in the basement.I LOVE MY WOMAN CAVE. oh please note the 2x4 legs for added rustic look lol.

What I like best is when I'm in there sewing and looking out my window. What I like least is that it's a room of about 10 x 12 (my son's old room) and there's his old twin bed (he still likes to sleep in there when he comes for a visit), two dog cages, and an inversion table. Plus, a 6' folding table that my machine sits on, an old singer in its cabinet and a small dresser that matches the bed...I made that into my cutting station. So, needless to say I have everything lined up around the walls. The bed has my fabric stash folded into piles on it. I dream of clearing everything out & getting organized. And when I really dream there's a long arm with frame in place of that bed!!
