  Thanks to all for your help. I have never quilted a project so I am scared (really do not know where to start so I have to read and search google for directions and of course help and suggestions and ENCOURAGEMENT from Yall) Thanks again. I also put some pics on main forum not sure if that was correct so I will put them here if that is correct sorry if it was not the right way to post.

We better wait and see what kind of mess I make trying to quilt this since it will be my very FIRST attempt at that....

i love that. It would look great on her table ( or mine ) I agree, red backing and black binding. I'm sure you will do great on the quilting.

its beautiful and i agree there aren't any mistakes in quilting - just throw all those silly quilting rules out the window.

for a table topper i love a scalloped border and you could cut the border fabrics in shapes similar to the quilt pattern - basically making it a scrappy scalloped border.

Looks beautiful! There are no such things as mistakes, I would say that it's your interpretation of the design. Audition fabric for the back and make sure that you won't be able to see it through the white on the front. Red would be beautiful if it doesn't show through. Great job!
