    LOL.
Kitsie, there is such a thing. I've never seen one in person, but they are very collectible & sell for a small fortune on eBay.

I know mom had one!! Just can't remember if it was for hemming or not, but I don't think so because I never saw her use it.

Just checked out your pics; loved them. How long did it take you to make that fringe? They evidently have (had) different sizes. I too have several machines. I have a White Treadle and 2 electric Singers, and a hand-crank one.
I don't remember, but it didn't take long. It was a couple of years ago. I played with it quite a bit when I got it, but only ever used it the one time on my gf's tote. You make me want to get it out again & play. I think your right that they have different sizes, seems I've seen larger versions.

I always pack up one of my handcranks when I go camping.

I already posted it above. Someone already guessed what it is. It is a fringe maker. They also used them to make rugs.

A faggoter is a tool used to make faggoting; or two pieces of fabric with open stitching in between. We use zig zag machines now to do it.

Hi, It is a Singercraft attachment for making rugs, etc on your sewing machine. I found 4 of them one summer at garage sales & have not seen a one since. I have some of the original graphis & they are wonderful. there are several different ones made--would love to have a collection of the various ones.
