I think they look great so far and I think you should continue with the detail work as you may find it more to your liking...or...not. At least it will be more clear to you as to whether to finish or not.

I am a Corgi lover, too. I am on my 4th one and just love, love my Bogey, he is 4. At the stained glass site, there are pics of corgi's, too that are worth a look. Just love your work.

Definitely add the details. You do awesome work and as you know, the devil is in the details LOL. Our church recently completely appliqued banners that were 28-30" by 58". The first we did up to point of adding leading was so discouraging we were ready to trash it. However, when we added the details we were amazed at the difference. You will love these when completed, just as we did with ours. Please post the finished project. You will be an inspiration to the rest of us to take on similar projects.

What do you think? Should I go ahead with stitching in the details or can it and apologize?
No- do NOT can it! looks great - have been reading other comments and agree about eyes. I'm a painter from way back and a fine liner with some textile white - or use acrylic with textile medium will make finer "comma" highlights for eyes. It's much easier than the thread unless you are willing to use silk - very fine and just stitch or two. I would start with the twinkle in each eye using photo for placement and then very light grey for nose highlite. Then you can see if you need a real fine black line to define bottom of eyes. Your composition is great - reminds me of david taylor :)

Go For It. With detail it will look more real. I like it. Maybe you will have to slow down for you to see it.
