Okay, so this may be a lengthy story, but bear with me. My middle son was telling me the other day that my 9-year old DGD finally has her own bedroom. He told her she could paint it any color she wanted. And she chose....you guessed it...Kawasaki Green. For those of you who are motorcycle enthusiasts or have boys who are, you know what it is. When you drive down the road and see a Bright Bright Green motorcycle chances are it is a Kawasaki. Anyhow, their house is over a hundred years old and has radiators, so she wanted pink stripes on the ridges of the radiator. My puzzle is this, I want to make her a new quilt for Christmas. The enclosed picture is the only fleece that I thought would go with the color scheme. And I figure it will last her into her teens. Problem is I want to put flannel on the back; the fabric is fleece. I got some pieces of flannel and pulled a few from my stash. I need some ideas for what type of square to use and how many other flannels I should get; assuming I can find more. HELP!!!!!

    The fleece, she loves cats

the one on the right probably will not be included

I am new to quilting so I can't help but I just wanted to say your flannel choices are perfect. It will be one beautiful quilt no matter how you chose to do it.

I really love the cat fleece for the top! Personally, I would use the pink and green dots, the light pink checks, and the light green (is it checks or stripes?)...but that's just my opinion  This is going to be a really cute quilt...please post a photo when you're done!

There are dots and stripes. Thanks, I thought it was cute too. Of course it was the only fabric I could find that didn't have green as the dominate, and I could never match the green, so I figure I will use it as the accent. I think she has enough green in the room. Maybe a log cabin??? Or rail fence???

Cute - I agree about the flannel on the right - love the fleece you have and the flannels go nicely.

I think something with fairly large pieces -

So I'm thinking a log cabin with the 3 greens on one side and the 3 pinks on the other side, and many get another pink and a green and use them as the center in the log cabin. Maybe I can get a really bright green and a really bright pink for the center. Any thoughts?

A log cabin would be beautiful, but I think a rail fence would be easier to do with flannel.
