Judging by the first picture, she doesn't put these together, but finishes each off as a small quilt. That makes it easier sell at a craft show than a big, expensive quilt. People can take one small gem home. I just love the idea and love your work! And love your grandbaby, too!

Thi is one of the most beautiful log cabin designs I have ever seen.

I'll try to answer all the questions I get here...
    These are NOT paper pieced.

Strips are cut at 1" and 1.5". Just follow any log cabin pattern--there are some on Quilter's Cache. The trick is to have many fabrics to choose from. These blocks have over 20 different fabrics in each. Each block is 6.5" before it's sewn into the topper.

I get my fabrics from various places--in stores and on-line. There's no specific place that has the best fabrics--it's a huge searching situation to find what works.

Lovely. I have wanted to give this a try for a high school friend of mine but not had the courage because I just knew it would take lots of different fabrics to make a stunning little piece look so good. Thanks for your pictures. It is encouraging to see successes.
