Default What I did with the 24 fall-ish log cabin blocks....

The first photo shows the one I kept from the last batch--quilted and with a binding. All the rest sold in the first craft show. It's been awhile since I've made some. There are more blocks started.

Just the tops are done so far--I'll have them layered and quilted within a few weeks. I'm having too much fun playing to start that step yet. It's a fiasco to move so much stuff in my studio to get that job done.

I'll try to answer all the questions I get here...
    These are NOT paper pieced.

Strips are cut at 1" and 1.5". Just follow any log cabin pattern--there are some on Quilter's Cache. The trick is to have many fabrics to choose from. These blocks have over 20 different fabrics in each. Each block is 6.5" before it's sewn into the topper.

I get my fabrics from various places--in stores and on-line. There's no specific place that has the best fabrics--it's a huge searching situation to find what works.

I always enjoy your floral log cabins and I think you are right about the variety being the key.

It's hard to get the colors just right--the green border is on the olive side.
    Thanks for your kind replies!

Absolutely gorgeous! What is the finished size? Are they table-toppers?

I did forget some answers! ;-) Yes, toppers. 18" square at the moment--binding will add 1/2".

As always, drop dead gorgoeus. I could stare at them for hours and I did at the one I brought home in the form of a bag! Love on that last one how you managed to find a sunflower print just slightly larger in scale for the border as one of the strips in the LC block itself!
