I learned how to choose colors that work with each other, how to use a 9-patch ruler and a 4-patch ruler, how to "nestle" seams - to get that perfect matching of the corners, how to figure out the amounts of material needed, how to properly press without stretching, how to design my own pattern (this will take some practice!), learned a new way of putting it all together, and learned how to do a binding. The best part of the class was enjoying making new friends, and watching how their quilts turned out, too.
Boy - I think you make us all want to take some classes. Your quilt is beautiful. Can you tell us what the class that you took was called? Was it a class to make this particular quilt or was it a beginner's class? Also, how many were in the class? It seems as tho you may have gotten a lot of individual attention. Thanks!
