You have a gift in that you can look at a pattern book and envision fabric you have access to.
I have a hard time looking at a pattern and figuring out what it might look like with fabric in my surroundings.
That sounds like I am making excuses for not really looking at that book, doesn't it? LOL Bummer!
I think - - based on the photos that the darker pink inner border you were mentioning would really make that quilt look elegant.
I think your first instincts are pretty good!

I HATE being indecisive, but, may I use my feminine perogative and change my mind about that inner border?
When I looked at that beautiful border fabric ... I think the pretty little flowers would get lost, whereas right now, they are sort of accentuated by the inner blocks ... not having to compete to keep up ... I am not even going to ASK if that makes sense <g>.

It could go either way... either the dark pink border will make a definate frame around the body and then the border stands out on its own or, it overpowers it. I'll lay them out to see how it looks before deciding. As a binding I'm definate that it would frame the whole nicely.
Since a jelly roll is all coordinated just about any would be fine. Almost can't go wrong.
There is another one in the book with Japanese taupes that I love. It's muted and simple but beautiful. I haven't found a jelly roll of those fabrics yet.

Gee Pam ...I have wondered for a of couple days where you have been.
Now I see .... you have been making a pretty quilt top. This is really nice. I love the colors.
Have you worked anymore on the doll blocks? Tha is goiing to be fun seeing all of those and how people do them "up".

I have been reading all the posts, just not replying much. Been tired from work but always have the energy to sew even if I don't feel like talking.
My DD and SIL and the kids will be here this weekend. They got approved for a mortgage and they are looking for a house in a city about an hour away from me. I am thinking that maybe my granddaughter would like to help design some girl and boy blocks and pick the embelishments. I still have the tutorial to do for the pattern pieced one.
I'm sure I could make a bad looking quilt without half trying. :wink: EQ6, or using MS Paint like I used before that, sure helps in seeing how colors look together before I actually make it.
