Beautiful quilt Pam. I vote using that darker pink as a 1- 1 1/2" border. The stripe is beautiful on there too!!!

This is another beautiful quilt! The most feminine one I've seen from you, and I've liked all of them :D

I like the small inner border. Maybe even smaller - or even a flange or faux piping. Just a bit of an accent before you put that gorgeous stripe on. Then I'd use the same fabric as binding, if you have enough.

Does the block have a name?

do you have enough of the dark to do both? It looks pretty in both pictures.

This is what I was thinking too--that's why I asked what fabric you would use for the binding if you used the dark for inner border. It is such a wonderful accent fabric for your quilt.

No, I don't have enough to do both with that fabric. I have 1/2 yd each of the blue and green stripe. Those came in a grab bag I bought at Fat Quarter Shop and they are part of the collection.

For that matter I could use strips from the other jelly roll I have of the collection and I pulled out the solid and the stripe of each color; pink, blue, and green and didn't use them in this quilt. I could cut them in half to 20" or even 10" strips each and piece them together for the binding.

I have the dark border sewn on, I agree that it looks best next to the body.

It is feminine for me as I usually go for darker or muted colors. I do like them though.

I don't know if the block has a name. It's from the book Jelly Roll Quilts and they call it Spiral Strips.

It wasn't difficult to do at all and with the pre-cut strips everything went together just right with hardly any fuss.

I didn't get a chance to vote on where to put that little border, but it sure is beautiful between the quilt and the border.
I read the whole thread just now, since I was away all day.
    the quilt is awesome.
I don't usually like the floral thing, but your quilt is just very pretty.
Now! Admit it! You are getting a kickback from all of the Jelly Roll books you sell by such grand advertising, right?

Looks great, Pam, I can't wait to see it finished. I'm working on a quilt out of the Jelly Roll Quilts book as well - I'm doing the Garden Trellis pattern using an "Aviary" JR. The pattern is similar to yours except the strip blocks are on a diagonal instead of vertical/horizontal.
