I made a log cabin with autumn colors and put 2 borders around it - brown and red then a border of flying geese and finally 2 more borders of red and brown. Then I bound it in ivory. It helped make the quilt big enough for our bed - king size. I had it long arm quilted in an all over meander with autumn color variegated thread.

WOW!!! Great job!! I think your ideas are great. Do you want to take all the time and make smaller log cabins for a border? You could put on solid borders so that you don't take away from the beauty of your masterpiece... just a thought or two. You should be proud, you have done a wonderful job.

What a beautiful quilt! I am getting excited about log cabin blocks after seeing so many lovely examples on the board.

Very nice! The blue wall really brings out the blue in the quilt. How about that as the border?
