    I was going to say a 'snowball variation' but I can clearly see the bowties. It's set up different than the other bow tie patterns I've seen. I like it very much

    I do not know the name of this quilt pattern..... but I did send a e-mail to my cousin asking if she still had her quilt from grandma like this one, as we both had one exactly like this one from way back in the early 70's.. mine was damaged in a fire and could not be repaired.

    I think the setting of these bowties is called mosaic.........I too only cut the middle piece fabric, reason being, as I was told a long time ago........the back piece is the "true" edge of that block and that is what you look for when joining. When sewing on that small square and then folding over, it sometimes is a bit smaller...the middle piece is just bulk to get rid of, but that back piece is true...
