    Thanks everyone. You are so encouraging! I have to admit to you all that my sister, who was living in Papua New Guinea at the time helped with some of the machine embroidery, but left it to me to design and piece together. Being my first quilt I was very nervous as she is an excellent seamstress and has made some lovely quilts. I have 7 siblings and all contributed a memory square for the quilt. Our billiard table came in handy to lay everything out on. We have since sold that table and I use my sewing room floor now to lay out the pieces.
