The panel is beautiful and the bargello is also but may not together. I feel the fabric used to frame a print shouldn't detract from it and the bargello is so striking you want to look at it.

I think the bargello detracts from the pheasant panels because it seems really big and busy in comparison. The pheasant panel is overwhelmed.
The bargello would be an awesome backing for the pheasants, though.

1. A bargello is busy enough to stand on its own.
2. I would suggest that your next Bargello you add fabric with print to give your Bargello movement. I wish I knew how to attach files (I'm working on it!). I've just completed an Around the World Bargello and there are prints in it that make the finished product come alive. Remember, the prints will be cut into small pieces, so what's on the bolt will transform into something beautiful. If you're a little nervous, begin by selecting prints that "read as solid," and see the difference!

Maybe a braided surround in browns, soft greens, creams,a frame, then a bargello? Or try it on point, with a braid or a bargello, then flying geese around the edges. Relax and it will come to you.
