He is so cute, and so little! My last one was 10 lb. 5 oz. twice his size! yikes! so glad you found the fabrics in your aunt's stuff, at this time. :D
Don't usually skip around on threads, but have been tired lately. Just went back and read entire thing, and this is an absolutely amazing job that you did. Hope you don't mind, i copied pics for inspiration, got gobs of hex's, must be over a thous. my mom cut years ago. Don't know if I'll ever have the patience to do anything like this though.
What an awesome job you did, the work, the physical aspects of it, the piecing, the machining, and the combination...just a culmination of work, sweat, and maybe almost a few tears, but it is gorgeous! wow, i'd rest on those laurels a bit, and yes, I agree...relay this story in some way to baby, for future generations. wow! :D
