[quote=mpeters1200]I was a complete silly person and posted my first finished quilt for 2010 in it's own thread. It really should have been here. You can find the story for it by following this link. I'll still post pics here.

I really like your quilt. I enjoyed your explanation of designing a new block and layout. I, too, prefer patterns and instructions. I know a lot of my quilting friends say they never make the pattern exactly the same as the instructions, but not me... I even love quilt kits for the fact that they have all the fabric picked out!

I guess we're peas in a pod, and it takes all of us to make the quilty world go round!

Loved your notes about your family. Quite an accomplishment, especially that they have done so well out in the world.

Well thanks. My son has come a really long way. All the kids have their own quilts now, and all the grandkids have afghans. I'm their step-gramma and I didn't want to make quilts as their other Grandmother makes them. I made them afghans instead. So now I can make realistic lists and get to work. The big project for the year of hubby's is the last family one. Our Anniversary Sampler quilt top is complete...just need pics and then it goes in the frame for a few months while I hand quilt it.

I gotta add a blasted quilt to my list for this year. I won't get it done this year, but I have to get the top completed this year so I have the beginning of next year to quilt it. My friend is getting married. Her name is Danielle and I found a free pattern on one of the fabric manufacturer sites that matches her name. I was waiting for a nice occasion, and now I have one. I was going to make it next year, occasion or not, so we just have to move it up the list a bit.

What a cutie ! ! ! How did the bears come about? Are they cut out of another fabric? Did you make them yourself? Did you use a pattern to make them? Curious minds want to know.. :-)

Here are the two final pics of my anniversary sampler quilt top. I won't be able to post more until December when my quilting is done and I present it to him.

You can find the story with all the individual block names and pics on this thread: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-36285-1.htm
