I love your sampler quilt! The colors are great. Someday, I'm going to make a sampler quilt...sigh... :?

Thank you! I actually find samplers easier to do than the quilts that are one pattern repeated. I really can't get a grasp on the quilts that have 2 patterns, one a mirror image of the other....just can't seem to wrap my brains around it.

Here's my "progress" since making the bear quilt for my new baby granddaughter. Her picture is my avatar, it was taken in the hospital the day she came home. She's almost 4 months old now!

Here's the list I started with:

    1. finish new baby granddaughter quilt. She's due 2 weeks and I'm flying out in 12 days. Only have binding to stitch on, so I'll get it done.

    2. get my string quilt to quilter and then begin handquilting it afterwards

    3. finish my husband's log cabin, just have a little MQ left then binding

    4. finish my blue batik quilt

    5. keep up with block swap here on the board

    6. finish Janene's quilt, top is done right now

    7. finish Lone Star, top is about halfway done

    8. start red snowball quilt while back helping my daughter with new baby

    9. finish redwork quilt (blocks all made)

    10. finish christmas quilt (top is done)

    11. start Prairie quilt

So, not as much progress during my summer vacation from teaching as I wanted. Things go slower than I expect...always!

I did get my string quilt to the quilter, but probably won't get to the handquilting until next year.

I finished my husband's log cabin. His favorite color is black. So I made the quilt out of shades of black and gray. I asked him if he had any other favorite color and he said blue. So the center square of the log cabin is dark blue batik and the backing is the batik. He said it looked like a black eye (black and blue), so I named the quilt Mouse. (They call a black eye a "mouse" in police and detective fiction)

I finished the blue batik quilt also.

I have kept up on the block swap.

Then...disaster struck. LOL I joined the group on the board who is doing the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt. It began in August, as did school. It seems the only thing I can get done now is the block swap and the 2 blocks a week for the Farmer's Wife!

So I haven't finished Janene's quilt, although I did get the final borders cut, but they're not attached!

I did start the snowball quilt. I found that the redwork quilt still needed more blocks when I went to lay it out, so I am (hand) embroidering them now.

Wow...haven't you been a busy bee.

No more pictures to post so far. My camera broke, and I can rig it up, but it's a pain, so I only do it when I have to.

I'll try to get some WIP pics up soon. My days are freed up now, so I spend a lot more time quilting or piecing than I was before.

Remember, the log cabin was finished except for a bit of machine quilting and putting on the binding.

I did have to make the majority of the blue quilt....

Most of the items on my list were "finishers" rather than start from scratch, and I haven't even had the time to do THAT!

I'm just happy to quilt, if I was only happy when I finished something, I'd be a sorry soul. Thank goodness the process is the thrill!

The quilts are all beautiful. The one that got my attention is the one with the bears. That one is really cute! Congratulations on you new grandchild!
