    I also would rearrange the blocks. I know you were going for a light to dark but I think if you mix the dark in with the light it would look better. Just don't use gold as a border..there is plenty of it there already. I like it!!

    the thing that stands out most to me...... is the one gold background on the upper left. I think the gold helps brighten it, I'd try rearranging them a bit or adding or sutraction that one gold background block.. I love the dark to light gradiation

    I like it the way it is. Go away from it for a week. Then you will look at it with fresh eyes. I like the way the quilt changes color. Also once it is sewn together it will look like it belongs that way. Then quilting will unify too.

    i rather like the light to dark of the other fabrics. the gold doesn't bother me at all

    If this was mine, I would ask several children or non- quilters to play with the blocks and put them into an arrangement. My DD and DGD often help improve my layouts.

    Maybe take a photo of the arrangement as it is now as your starting point. . Then stack up the blocks and let other people play with them. Take a photo of each persons arrangement..... I would also offer the choice of placing the blocks on a dark or something other than gold fabric when they play with them.

    I would replace the square gold background upper left with light. Then i would like to see how it looks with all the triangles in gold. Then I would like to see it with the triangles all going the same direction.

    At first I didn't see the pattern that the triangles were laid out in, but now I see it. It looks a bit chaotic, but I get it. I like what you're doing with this and look forward to seeing your end product!

    I like it the way it is - very nice modern design. I would take it into the room where it will be used and evaluate it there. Might just look perfect with your other gold accents.

    Definitely re-arrange the blocks. It does 'scream' at me when I look at it. Whether you arrange them so four gold point all point inward and have the rest like ripples in the water (or like slight diamond shape getting bigger similar to a log cabin variation).
