I love your wall hanging. Halloween stuff is always so cute.
As for my thoughts on paper piecing, I tried it once and made a mess of it. I'm sure it can't be that hard and am determined to teach myself so I can make a library quilt.

I love to paper piece, but there is a very definite technique. Your's turned out wonderful.
I think the advantage is the ease with which you get perfect points. And they always seem to come out so crisp. Instead of using paper, a friend of mine recommended using used dryer sheet. I haven't tried it yet, but the logic sounds really good. They smell good and don't have to be removed. And they don't add weight
I had a really hard time learning ( I a lefty), because of the whole "reverse" thing. But once I got it, I whizzed right along.

Thank you ladies for all those nice compliments.
IMJUSTME..........
if you are going to start PP, I would suggest that you purchase the "add an eight" ruler...it really makes for an easier job in
trimming.
(they also make an "add a quarter" one for larger projects.
CRAFTILADI..........
the PP is a great way to put together tiny pieces. It also makes it simpler for getting sharper points.
LISA_WANNA_B_QUILTER........patience!!!!!
I loved the look of the PP but just couldn't get the knack....until I was introduced to the rulers mentioned above. Once you get into it, you're stuck with it forever....
FANCYFOOT.........
the pattern is "Little Bits HAUNTED HOUSE" by
Cindi Elgerton. The instructions are on a one piece of paper folded into a little booklet about 4"x4 1/2".......and it comes with the tissue foundations ..... enough for making 4 little quilts.
I copied the tissue onto copy paper as I prefer that.......but it's all what one cares to use.
CHATTYK........
I do agree that the scent of the used dryer sheets would be nice but as I told FancyFoot, I prefer a bit more crispness to the paper.
....but as I also mentioned, everyone has their own choice.
Hope this answered all the inquiries......Have a good day.

That wall hanging is so cute! I've never done PP because I felt a little intimidated by it but I just bought a book about it so that I can learn. It's called "Flip Flop Paper Piecing" by Mary Kay Mouton.

OMG- how much did you have to drink to get that beautiful project done? My advice on paper piecing is this- drink often and in copious amounts - and keep your laptop handy to email Tirnhi in Guam many, many, many times to get a 'blesseded' 12 inch block completed. Oh, and buy about a trillion yards of fabric so that you can do the same block for an entire weekend.
This all stems from a block of the month that was paper piecing. My finished one is adorned with wine bottles, wine goblets and lots of empty chocolate wrappers :):):):)
In all seriousness, you did an outstanding job!

CATHYM
Thanks..and yes, I did break for a glass of cheer every now and again !!!!!
Really enjoyed making this piece...now ready for the Thanksgiving.
I have one pattern but not sure if I am ready for it as it really does have some VERY small pieces...I think perhaps I had better get into the Christmas ones first and get them finished and work on the Thanksgiving for 2010...
that way, it might get completed throughout the winter months.
Have a good day.MaryJane
