These bags are made to fit inside the arm of a wheelchair for the Veterns to carry small items/book/etc.

I had hoped this fabric would work for the walker bags, but the flags were just not large enough. So, when the Veterns Hospital Nursing Unit Staff asked for a pocket/wheelchair bag ,I decided to give this fabric a chance, and it seems to be just the size they requested.

These are the walker bags. They have several heavy duty snaps that hold them in place.

That is so cool. I showed that to my husband who is a disabled Veteran, but not in a wheelchair, but he said if he were in a wheelchair, he would LOVE to have one of those. So there ya go. I bet they all would like one.

Thansk for letting me know ....... The staff specifically asked for a bag for the wheelchair... after much research and modifing of a free pattern ( I always seem to modify patterns to make them more effient to produce, easier to make or more user friendly) , this is what I came up with...

I'm a retired nurse, with lots of Nursing home/elder/ handicapped experience and I thought it looked like it would met their needs... Our local VFW ( who I work thru) has a w/c at the VFW club , I plan to try it out tomorrow while I'm there... was a bit unsure of how long to make the ties.....
