Thanks for that idea. Makes logical sense. Rough mock up in Excel/Paint. What do you think??
    I think it's a winner!

If all the black is bothering you from those emblem blocks, you can always snowball them. Blue fabric on 2 corners (opposite diagonals) and then yellow on the other two. That would give a secondary pattern but cut down on the amount of black.

    Just a thought.

I like it after you put that black sashing and border on. Not as busy looking to me and definitely easier on the eyes.

Maybe have a solid outer border in blue with Battman print used for corner stones.Put a narrow black border inside next to busy print and black frame around center of your blocks.Just a thought

I also like it best with the black sashing & border best. It defines the blocks better. It will be wonderful when finished.

Your quilt top is not too bright. I actually like the blocks as they are in the first picture. I would at least add a smaller black border around the blocks before the outside print fabric border.

I also like the black sashing that forms between the blocks. As in the picture you worked up and posted.

I would not use the large Batman quilt blocks, they look like they over power the rest of the quilt blocks. They take away from the design the other blocks create.

If you need the quilt larger, then add a black border on the outside of the outside border. If you don't need it larger I would use black for the binding. Another option would be to add a small piping either just fabric or with tiny cording, using the yellow fabric between the black sashing and the outside border print.

Good luck with your project and please keep us updated with pictures.

I think sashing might break it up a little bit. Cute quilt though.

I found a pic. that Beachbound did that might work for yours...I am doing a quilt for my DH with Farmall tractors. I am using the quarter triangle squares in it..http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-35915-1.htm or just the quarter triangle squares in between your blocks. :-D

Looks great with the black in between the blocks. It helps separate them.

I agree with this. I wouldn't want to rip all of the seams either...I'd compromise and do the sashing. Calms it down a bit without the extra work of frogging your blocks.
