Whimsical Ladies Series of Quilts
#49
Thankyou everyone for your lovely comments. The only pattern I used, and adapted to suit, was the last two and the pattern was called Beach Bums by JoAnn Hoffman.
The others I found a pic on Pinterest or just by Googling for ideas and drew them onto paper and then enlarged them to the size I wanted. Most are about 36-40 inches in size, some a little larger. I very rarely follow a pattern, just find a pic I like and go from there as it allows you to add your own features or embellishments. They are all fused onto the background fabric and machine appliqued and then machine quilted. I always draw the design onto non-fusible interfacing (I bulk it by the bolt) which is so much easier to manipulate when assembling the pieces into place on the background.

Some of the fabrics especially in the bathing suits leave a lovely textured feeling when I have quilted the design. I picked the fabric because it 'talked to me' about how I would quilt it. So you can run your hand over the bottom of the bathing suit ladies and feel the cellulite on some LOL
