Default From white sashing to charcoal sashing

Back in February I posted the results of a mystery quilt day, sponsored by the past presidents of our quilt guild in Guelph. Its always a fun day, but I came away unhappy with my quilt. I always use stash materials for these, but this time the results did nothing for me; Too Blah!

So I recently finished taking all the blocks apart and reassembling them in Charcoal rather than white. But as this "lap" quilt was too small for me, I decided to sash everything a second time. Now it's more exciting. And I can see some pretty dramatic quilting happening here. I posted the original as well as the new version.
I'll add an additional border 6 inches all around while I wait for the wide back material I ordered to arrive. I'll repost when the quilt is finished.

Amazing difference, but a lot of ripping. That is beautiful.

What a difference! The colors really pop. I can't wait to see it with the quilting.
