    This top used the first kit I've tried. It was the right price and used 12 fat quarters and that was enough for me to get it. I was curious about how the FQ would be used.

    My first reaction was disappointment - the blocks are awfully big and I wasn't used to that and the variety of fabrics seemed ... not very varied.

    But ... I like it! So lessons learned ... big isn't bad and variety is in the eye of the beholder - and I just haven't beholden enough yet!

    It sure is quick and would be a fun way to use the $1 fat quarters I found at the Houston Quilt Show - and a reason to go back next year and get more!

    Pattern is Cheaper By the Dozen from Legacy Patterns (www.makinglegacy.com)

    I love it! This is my kind of look and pattern that I love working with! Great fabric choice too!

    You're right. At first glance, the variety is not obvious, but it's there. A nice quilt.
