Wow, you do have your hands full!
Well, it was intended to be reverse applique, but it ended up being regular applique because of the white fabric. I was inspired to try this by "grammatjr" here on our forum, she has a book and does amazing work!

Is the beautiful Maltese in the center reverse appliqued? It is gorgeous ! Would love to know how you did it. Nothing warms your heart like a quilt and a dog. Right now we are dog sitting our daughter's two: a 151 lb. Mastiff and a 50 lb. almost 16 yr. old senior Viszla. We have two 5 mo. old Golden puppies, so it is quite lively around here this week !
