    I made a major boo-boo TWICE lately!
I sent 2 quilts to my longarmer. Instead of adding 8 inches total to each side of the backing I added 4!!!!!!! In my head I was thinking 4 on each side but it didn't translate in my pea brain

We were able to partially fix it though. She used a backing for one quilt that fit and I sent another backing for the other one.
The backings worked out even though they were on the wrong quilts.

I lay the main blocks out on one big piece of fabric, arrange how I want them then measure the space filled with the fabric. too much math for me is out of the question, I'll mess it up.

Hi Linda - I made D9P blocks until I ran out of the red star scraps and am sashing it for some extra size.

BTW, after much more adjusting the sides are on. I had measured the length of the side, measured the pooh blocks and used math to divide up the intervening space for fill. Thankfully I still had some of the blue fabric and was able to cut a longer piece as a replacement.

Been there, done that as they say. I go on, add a piece of the same fabric. Quilt, bind and label. My Native American beliefs are that nothing is perfect if it isn't made by the creator. He made us all with flaws to keep us humble. All my work whether it is quilting, making clothes, hand work (hand embroidery, cross stitch), basically everything I can do with my own hands always has some sort of imperfection.

Just don't point it out when its finished!..

Yep. All the time. I've learned not to worry about mistakes. If I had to worry about my mistakes or take time to "fix" them, I'd never be able to finish a quilt. Can't remember where I read this but something about how quilters always leave on mistake in their quilt because only God is perfect.

Yep. No matter how careful I measure it seems that nothing turns out the same size. I think that maybe I have so many different rulers that there must be some difference between them...or maybe I'm just a sloppy with my measurements. I no long feel that my quilting has to be perfect. I just have to be happy with it!

I have tried to make a perfect quilt. Something always go wrong.

I always say it will still be pretty and warm and always free. I give or donate most of my quilts. Only sold one as a fund raiser for local BoyScouts. Didn't even cover cost of fabric.
