Our family is doing a reunion over the 4th of July, and I have seen other posts about quilts raffled at reunions, so I decided last week, to put one together.

This is made up of 2 very bold fabrics and I did the HST, where you cut a square of the 2 fabrics, draw a line corner to corner, sew 1/4 inch on both sides of the line, cut on the line and you have a square. I decided that it needed a narrow sashing, and did that in brown. It finished at 45x60, nice lap size.

We will not be selling chances on this quilt, everyone's name will go in the hat, and one will be drawn out.

I backed it in white fleece and used some VERY THICK poly batting that I had found for next to nothing at the thrift store.

All done, but for the washing and drying

I really like the simplicity of just a few fabrics. You worked wonders with it. Lucky recipient!

Love it -- using the striped fabric makes it look really difficult. Great look, good colors.
