    Default Wildcat Quilt/Wallhanging

My brother commissioned me to make this quilt for his former track and field coach. My brother sent me a scan of a business card which I enlarged to 8 1/2 x 11". I then took it to a print shop and had it enlarged 300%. The enlarged print was used for the applique pattern. This was the first big machine applique project I ever attempted and it was a huge learning experience. The hardest part was reproducing the lettering. The background is Michael Miller Fairy Frost and the I used batiks for the wildcat. I was lucky enough to have the red and black border fabrics (school colors) in my stash. I did attach a hanging sleeve on the back and a label.

How on earth did you do that? You are amazing. I would never be able to make an applique out of a picture. However it gives me something to strive for. It is so exact. Wonderful.
