You know what, I had the same thought this morning. I also have a photo, ONE photo of his grandma on his other side, quilting by using an old wooden frame. It's going to get framed too
They lived in a town called Shrewsbury, which was their last name, in WV. Coal miners. That photo is priceless. Funny story: they used to make moonshine, and had lots of kids, so when one of them saw the revenooers coming, they had a series of whistles they whistled up the mountains, to let Ma, who was quite heavy, know to sit of the boxes of moonshine. By sitting on them, she hid them!

Someday my husband is not going to be embarased by these stories, he'll see their value as proof of the hard life his ancestors had

That is truly a treasurer!!! You might have to fight the others off now that you've got it almost finished!

RugosaB, This story is funny. I love to hear about stories from earlier generations. We used to have neighbors who were elderly and they always has wonderful stories about the 'olden days'. I used to go and visit at least once a week. Thanks for sharing. Eiltcoq.

What a treasure! It is hard to finally get to that place where you feel comfortable finishing those sorts of things. You did a SUPER job! And I love the bright, crisp colors. Congratulations to you...a job WELL done!
