WIP for my daughter
#24
Each of my little squares will each finish 5.5". It would be waaaaaay faster to do with bigger blocks. I just like the little ones because they are so cute and allow me such a variety of fabrics.
You can make it any size, but since it is alternating dark and light, I would suggest using an odd number of blocks so it has the same type block in all 4 corners, either dark or light ones.
I plan on making it queen size, 17 blocks wide x 17 blocks long, finishing at 93". I am not planning on adding any borders but we'll see.
A double could be made with the little blocks 15 x 15 to be 82". Of course you can add borders and change the size easily.
You can get a pattern for a 12" Square in a square block on www.quilterscache.com.

You have done an excellent job of scattering the fabrics around. Made me take the time to look all over. That is one of the best things about the best quilts. They pull you in and make you want to linger. Well done!

I love making scrap quilts, and the scrappier they are, the happier I am. This one has about 20 different fabrics and I would prefer 200 different fabrics. If I use stash, my quilts often have hundreds of different fabrics in them.
But I had to buy the aqua fabric, because I didn't have many pieces of that color fabric in my stash, so these new fabrics were about all that I could afford!
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
