WIP:Red Bird, Does it look balanced to you?
I like the way this is looking so far. I'm not sure if it's balanced nicely though. That's one of the things that's hard to tell from close up.
This is just the center and it will be on a light blue background. I didn't have any blue so I had to order some and it's not here yet. I cut a piece of muslin the same size as the center of the wall hanging will be and did a mock up so I could get my elements arranged. I'll be adding a little bit of snow here and there but other wise every thing is on the mock up. When I get ready to apply the branches I think I'll make the edges a little wavy so they mimic real branches a little more. I really like the leaves cut with the pinking shears.
I know y'all have loads of opinions and I'm looking forward to hearing them!

If you're looking for opinions you know you've come to the right place.
Very CUTE piece you have going here!
I always have to work at making designs look balanced too and have a little "cheater" rule I use.... I like to work in "thirds" by placing the focus spot approximately 1/3 from the bottom (or top) and 1/3 from the left (or right) side. Make sense? Like if I divide your background into a 9 patch grid, then I place the focus object at one of the intersections of the "seam lines". Sometime that works great, other times it doesn't, depending on the over all affect it creates. Your little bird is sitting right on one of those intersections.
