This is the 4th version of this particular pattern I've made. One and 2 were for my step grands. When my DSil saw those pix, she wanted a smaller one in red black and white as a lap quilt. Unthinking, I grabbed the templates I'd made for the boys' quilts and went at it. After a little bit, I realized I was making something much larger than she wanted, so I put this aside and started over.
She got hers in time to snuggle under for a Minnisota winter. I have most of the quilting done on this. It's job will be to protect my great great gramma's dining table.
In keeping with my normal multiquilting, after I quilted all the borders, I added the binding so I could sew on it when I sit to listen to the news.
Yes, it's my own pattern, which began with a fan-folded square of freezer paper to make reusable templates for 1/4 of the quilt. I use freezer paper here, not because it's ironable, but because it's clean, large and fairly tough.
