Incredible work!!
Getting them out, I can understand your not finding the inspiration immediately. It'd be something you need to be in the "zone" to do. Perhaps having them out and visible will bring back your enthusiasm to continue.
Regardless, you have four outstanding pieces ... they could be finished into a wall hanging or small quilt or individually if you decide not to continue on for more Wonderful Women.

They are absolutely beautiful blocks. I wonder if you look at the pictures in the book and then go to your stash to see what fabrics you have that are of similar look if that would help? Also when I trial paints I hang up swatches and as I walk by them for a while they speak to me......maybe hanging your beautiful blocks where you will pass them will help? Good
luck and please post when you finish!!!!!

Looking at your blocks I was in awe how you were able to be so expressive through the positioning of each figure and their body language. I truly, truly hope you continue your project through to completion as I think you are going to have a very expressive piece of art when you're finished. Please keep going and let each block speak to you as you've done with these first 4.....
DebbE took the words right out of my mouth! I haven't seen this sort of pattern before, but I have lived in various parts of the world and know that women, especially mothers, of good will are the same everywhere. You don't need words, mother to mother (or in my case, now, grandmother to mother), only smiles and perhaps a touch. I don't want to sound political, but the truth is, we all have similar needs and concerns. Your 4 blocks bring back a lot of memories and I actually yearn for you to finish that quilt and post it. Sofireno, pm me when you do, so I can't possibly miss it!
Actually, if you could keep going with some enthusiasm, I think it should be just the squares of the women, the world would be understood because of the pictures. How big are the pictures? If they are at least 6"x larger they will stand on their own. 8"xtaller would be even better. This is such a beautiful beginning!

I think once you start sewing a new block, inspiration will catch you like wildfire. Even trying out different fabrics for a block might start the inspiration flowing. This helps me when I feel too tired to sew.
