I recently finished a sampler quilt I had laying around here for quite a while. Your blocks remind me of it. My blocks were also 12 and a half inches. I did the quilt as you go method to join the blocks after I individually quilted each one. The joining strips are only an inch wide. I can envision your blocks joined with black. I've enclosed a picture of my quilt for you to see what I mean.

I think I would use them all for a fine lap quilt. I would definitely use red sashing and border, possibly with a narrow black border or binding.

Nice blocks - I like the idea of colored cornerstones in the sashing but would maybe go with lime green or yellow. You could add a border which would determine the other color to use.
