[quote=candi]Sorry for shouting! But I am thrilled to report that my first queen size, first bergello quilt is finally all quilted and bound and on my bed, we tested it last night and it is awesome! Hubby and I love it! Sure beats the "Made In China" quilt we were using

I'd be shouting too if I'd made a quilt that awesome.
WOO HOO. I'll shout for you. Fantastic job. I love your colors too.
You have every right to be proud of your quilt. Well done.

The pattern for the bargello is a tutorial here on the board by our talented member Barb_MO, I did it in subtle fall colors (new approach the subtle part) and using it for our bed. I rented a longarm for the first time to quilt it, used wool batting (heavenly light and soo soft) and quilted it all free hand with some wavy lines all across, I think it turned out it great for a novice! I had the quilt on a zipper set and took me total 2.5 hours to quilt this 102'' square Bargello  Including loading time, how spectacular is that? I loved the experience!

    Thanks all for looking!
Wonderful job. I'm new to this board and quilting. How long did it take you before the quilting?

Welcome to the board. Hard to say exactly how long cutting and piecing took as I was working on it while working on ther projects, I think I estimates 150 hours plus. BUT, don't let that scare you, I am a slow sewer and the pattern is quite easy even if a bit time consuming.

The pattern for this Bargello was posted by our own Barb_MO here on the board in a very easy to understand directions. I am going to put the links here for the tutorial sections in the board. You basically need 11 fabrics, 7/8 yard each (I got a yard justbin case) and cut 11 2.5" strips across the WOF from all 11 fabrics. You end up with about 88 by 77 quilt before borders, I did got more yardage for fabrics I wanted to use for the borders.
