This is stunning. I did my first wool applique project this winter. Just a candle mat. Enjoyed the experience but don't know if I'd want to continue on to other projects. I can well appreciate all the time and quality workmanship in your blocks.

Yes I wash my wool first, I have found that wool can bleed… Badly especially red.
If I buy hand dyed wool for quilting/rug hooking it is usually washed already.
If I use recycled wool I wash/felt it first.
And if it won't stop bleeding I don't use it.

Block 6
This block was a little wiggly. Because I do not use fusible webbing I had to pin it on in sections and then blanket stitch it down. I usually place the whole block then sew it down.
I also changed the embroidery I just didn’t like how the original looked with my finished block.
I went my own way with this one.
I am very pleased with the results.
