Default Working on a collage of my dog

I have been using Susan Carlson's method to collage this wall hanging of our black lab as a Christmas gift for my husband. I will probably use a dark red background. I would welcome any ideas or suggestions. I will be covering with mesh and blending some with thread painting.

That looks wonderful! I am so impressed by your work and wish I had some of your talent.

The eyes on your dog are beautiful -- your husband is going to love it!

What a wonderful collage. The eyes are so real. The only thing I might change is to lighten up the area under the nose. I think a red background would be perfect.

You really nailed those eyes. I think that is a very hard part of it.

I have a fine black mesh. I only put it over my collage. I stitch around the edge then trim the mesh. It keeps all the edges down. It really doesn't change the color much but just softens the blends.
