I hope you decide not to go with sashing. I don't think you always need sashing in a scrappy. Why not add a plain but prominent color border (maybe 2") and then go with an unusual pieced border with lots of white like the center (Maybe 4 or 6 inches wide). Maybe google unusual quilt borders/quilt borders.

I have just finished a Round Robin and think maybe your quilt could benefit from a scrappy border.

Good Luck. Can't wait to see what you decide.

I love it just the way it is too! Does it HAVE to be bigger?

I like it the way it is too. Perhaps a thin border and then another border of stars like you have in the middle.

I love it just the way it is. Really like the addition of the star block as well. If it we mine I would leave as is.

I love it like it is. The dark vertical pieces give the look of scrappy sashing. Don't take it APART. Just add to it however you decide, but the middle is perfect.

I would leave it just the way it is. The colors are great and it has a lot of movement and sashing would interrupt that

With or without borders it's a great quilt. The big question is: Is it big enough for your bed? Gotta love that quilt on your bed!!!

I think scrappy quilts look good with sashing. I just call them "organized scrappy". to keep the scrappy look going you could use different shades of sashing. If you wanted a Light sashing just go with all different "Light" sashing. Dark Sashing - Red - Blue-green etc. Just use different shades of you chosen color. I have done this and the quilt tops turn out looking great

    I agree with dunster.
